Why geeks should write?

Geeks, from my point of view "a genius in technology field", is always a word that I am looking forward to. To be a geek, I have tried all my ways to be much closer: reading lots of tech news, learning to configure my own laptop and even wearing a pair of round glasses (actually i am not shortsighted lol). However, when someone asked me whether I can write codes or not, I came into silence. Yes, how I can tell others I wanna be a geek if I know nothing about programming? That is why I am taking CS class now haha, just to make everything about geek perfect.
